Delhicious Evening – On The Waterfront, The Lodhi

By: Ashruti Baranwal (LTHE)

To start with, would like to define my experience at OTW (On The Waterfront) just with two adjectives ‘Elegant & Peaceful’.

Located on the edge of Lutyen’s Delhi and ten minutes from Connaught Place in the heart of the city, The Lodhi Hotel is easily accessible from all parts of the city especial Central & South Delhi. OTW, The Lodhi, a 5 star property, is truly a romantic fine dining restaurant which you can save it for special occasions like I did it. I planned a romantic dinner for my husband on his birthday to make it really special & memorable. I must say it is rightly placed in the romantic restaurant category in Zomato. This place is so well done, specially the table in between the water body.

The entry to this restaurant will make you experience India’s rich history. The hotel’s architecture is inspired by Lodhi Dynasty’s culture & presence in India.

The menu offers European, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Sushi cuisines. The bar menu offered a wide range of drink options especially wines & classic moctails. We ordered from the oriental kitchen which seemed to be a known section to me. Though the spread was not extremely lavish but had a good variety. I started with veg ‘Cheung fan spinach garlic’ dimsums which was highly recommended at Zomato. To my surprise, the peculiar unheard name of the dimsum did not disappoint me & it was delectable.

Since we were just two on the table, we couldn’t order a variety of delectable food items & quickly finalized an exotic Oriental main dish which had veg items quite unheard before. The service was quick & the staff was quite supportive in my decision making business. The ‘ Asparagus, broccoli, edamame, garlic soy’ with steamed Jasmine rice was finally served at our table. Best part about the food was its presentation. Quite impressive!!!.

Guys I am sure, non-vegetarians will be highly disappointed since there was no mention about delicious non veg food. Trust me, the items served on the other tables (I happened to peep :P) looked sumptuous, aromatic & presentable enough to make you fall for it.

Word of caution – this place for sure will be heavy on your pockets which is why please save it for special occasions.

It may not be the best or tastiest dining option in that part of the city but a must go for a quite elegant, romantic date.

Do share your experience with me if at all my review makes you fall for it 😉 Cheers!!!!
