Is it june already…. time does flies by so fast, isn’t it.

How about we take a look back at a few major events happened in May and some events that we are looking forward to this month.

In May Indian general election held to constitute 17th lok sabha, Election was completed in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019. Out of about 900 million eligible voters, this time election’s voter turnout was over 67 percent, the highest participation ever. As a result of the election, Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India for the second term.

Earlier in the month of May Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm Fani struck the Odisha and other east coast states. With the help of many disaster management organization, the government performed an exemplary evacuation procedure thus minimizing the loss of life. Now that the cyclone is over, the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the civilian are going on and with the massive relief support from all over India, it is expected that very soon the life of the people will be restored to the normal track.

Even though cricket is not the national game of India but you can’t name another game which is played more in this nation, and what’s more exciting than the world cup. Everyone is waiting for our Champions to lift the trophy for the third time. The 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup is the 12th edition of the Cricket World Cup, being hosted by England and Wales from 30 May to 14 July 2019.

Another major international sport event that started in June is FIFA Women’s World Cup

The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is the eighth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, contested by the women’s national teams of the member associations of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) between 7 June and 7 July 2019 in France. The United States is the defending champions.

The Most awaited event of this month is going to be the Monsoon, It has already shown its presence over the coast of Kerala, this means we have to survive this heat wave for a week or two more. Till that time all we can do is protect ourselves from heat and stay hydrated.
