Nando’s – Restaurant review

By Ananya Majumdar (L&T MHPS)

Nando’s, located at Outlet J, West Wing, Upper Ground Flood, Epicuria, Nehru Place, is yet another fine addition to the ever growing lounge culture of Delhi’s newest party location. Located in Nehru Place Metro station building, it is a popular destination for a casual dining experience.

Located at ground floor of the metro station entrance, Nando’s is tough to miss out due to its bright yellow interiors visible through its transparent glass exterior. The door on the passage opens to a resto bar hosting good music in its large space. The interiors welcome you with bright lighting for a feast of food. There is ample indoor seating; however, the restaurant lacks outdoor seating. The staff is very courteous and instantly found us a perfect seating area – a round table joined to another table to accommodate our group of 7. There is mixed seating arrangement from chairs to sofa. Prior reservations are generally not needed for this place.

The menu offers delicious Peri-peri flavours, which help you, indulge yourselves in your favourite chicken in a very different way. Nando’s (named after the founder Fernando) is an international casual dining restaurant chain originating in South Africa, with a Mozambican/Portugese theme. Hence, this special flavour is a product of Africa. Their sauces come in a wide range of Mild, Hot, very Hot which enhance the Peri Peri flavours as per the needs of the customer.

There is a wide range of items in the Menu and as a chicken lover it was a delight to me. However, my vegetarian friends found lost for options as most of the vegetarian dishes meant selecting something on cottage cheese. The Espetada’s were a visual treat, grilled veggies/chicken/paneer standing tall on a vertically hanged skewer.  I hogged on the Chicken Espetada Carnival and of course it was a real carnival of flavours. A must try chicken lovers. But, the most famous dish in Nando’s is most definitely a full chicken (Also available ¼ & ½) with regular sides in your favourite sauce.

They also offer pita breads, hummus, wraps, salads and lots more.

The food was served with minimum waiting time. and left me with a craving to visit the place many more times. The service was equally warm. We were immediately attended to by smiling waiters who guided us through the menu in complete detail.

The Price of the food is reasonable (like most other food joints in that area). A full course meal for two should at max range between Rs 1200 – Rs 1400 (without alcohol). What we loved was an additional discount on Zomato Gold membership that gave us 2+2 on Mocktails.

Overall, Nando’s is a great place to hang out with friends and family and has a great dining experience with food of exquisite flavours. It is thriving with the young crowd who choose it as a popular destination for celebrations of Birthdays or other events. Being an international brand, it is a quick choice for foreign nationals as well. Overall, I would strongly recommend you to go to Nando’s.
