Nestled in one of the bustling corners of the Connaught Place area of India’s capital, Art House Cafe is a boutique restaurant offering a unique experience. True to its name, the cafe has a classy, calm and a royal ambience. Not many cafes can boast of an art gallery within their establishment. The aesthetic interiors are a treat for the eyes with the walls adorned with exhibits from renowned artists. Apart from the art, the decor itself will leave you spellbound. Majestic and colourful lamposts, brightly lit chandeliers and comfortable seating make the cafe an absolute joy. It is the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern-day style.
The music is a delight, complementing the ambience and does not impede conversation. A unique feature is the service call bell that is used for calling onto the staff. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable about the menu.
I sense I have been raving on & on about the cafe’s art & service, but of course, food is a major draw for the majority of the folks. Though slightly overpriced, the cafe offers a range of Continental, Italian and Indian dishes. The plates of pasta and pizzas are cooked al dente and are absolutely delectable.
Some of the must-try vegetarian dishes include the Assorted Veggie Bruschetta & Aglio Olio Veg Pasta. Do not worry, I have not forgotten the non-veg lovers-Tandoori bites, Mint Chicken Tikka and the Keema Pavs are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The menu has a decent variety and has options for one and all.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, an artsy date might just be the thing to make the day special for your Valentine.
