Closure

By Shruti Vairagkar (L&T Howden)

Was it me who

ended it

or was it you?

Couldn’t meet my

expectations, you said.

When being happy is

all I ever wanted.

The cracks in us

surfaced quickly,

a looming threat.

The beginning was

sunshine and roses.

Blinded by the sun

that I missed the thorns.

Alas! It was a match not

meant to be.

The snow has melted.

The winds have changed.

Daffodils bloom again.

I look back to wonder,

was it something

I did or said?

I smile at this thought,

there are some

questions which will

always remain unanswered.

I walk away to give

myself the closure I

never did get.
