October is a month of festive celebrations and that time of the year when the sweet winter chill starts to settle in. All in all, it’s a time to enjoy and engage in the fun and frolic, be it the weather or the festivals.

Last month saw the onset of the Indian festive season with Dussehra & Durga Puja and it shall be at its peak during this month when whole of India celebrates the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhaya during the much awaited festival of Diwali.

Irrespective of the daily struggles and predicaments we have in our lives, Diwali is a time to rejoice. This is one such time when the people are at the height of their fervour. It is a joyous occasion on which friends and family come together, partake in festival rituals and the neighbourhoods sparkle with the glitter of lights and diyas.

Talking of festivals, Halloween is celebrated in other parts of the world in October with children dressing up in spooky outfits chanting ‘Trick or Treat’ everywhere they go.

While we celebrate Diwali in India, significant events have occurred worldwide. Global tensions rise as there’s a possibility of a World War 3 with the US contemplating a military strike on North Korea.

Unabated by global wars, tech-giants Apple & Google announced the launch of their crown jewels i.e. iPhone X and Google Pixel 2 respectively.

Thunderstorms continue to plague the people of USA forcing global superpowers to think of ways to curb nature’s wrath.

Festivals will come & go, nations will be made & torn down, but Enlightenment is here to stay.

I take this opportunity to present the Diwali edition of Enlightenment magazine consisting of an eclectic collection of poems, articles, reviews, pieces of art and photography with the usual dash of ‘Fun & the Weird’.

This edition also brings back the Biz-Tech Section of the magazine wherein we emphasize on the upcoming trends in technology and business practices. In this edition, we focus on the much talked about ‘Bullet Train’ project which may become a reality in India in the upcoming future.

So, Happy Reading folks! Let the reader in you rejoice what Enlightenment has to offer this month.

Wishing all of our readers a ‘Happy Diwali‘ and a joyous festive season.

Lastly, I encourage the readers to post comments/suggestions in the comments section so as to implement the same in forthcoming editions.
