Michele Madhusudan Dutta, the famous bengali poet once wrote-

“জন্মিলে মারিতে হবে,

                অমর কে কথা কবে,

চিরস্থির কবে নীড়,

              হায় রে জীবন নদে.”

The inner meaning of these lines are there is nothing eternal in life. Everything in this mortal world is temporary. Change is the only constant. So, the quest of change (intentional or not I don’t know) has brought me to this situation that I have to write a farewell note in my last association with Enlightenment, which I wish I had not! However, man proposes, God disposes. So, with a heavy heart, I must pen down my last words in this magazine.

My association with this magazine is not very long, hardly a year. But, it is not the time, but the experience that matters. I can still remember the day when I joined a bunch of energetic L&T-ites, who, apart from their daily work, run a magazine called “Enlightenment” voluntarily. I found the discussions very informal and with lots of banter and fun, which you normally do not have in your daily office work. Though I was the senior most, but I found myself at ease with them. Now after a year, ‘them’ became us, ‘I’ become we. Together, we have overcome the difficult times, enjoyed the happiest moments and redefined the office life with some laughter and fun. It was really an unforgettable experience which I will cherish through my entire life.

And of course, how can I forget the organisation in my bon voyage edition! I was associated with LMB since 2009. I must acknowledge that L&T is sea of unending learning. The more you can pick up, the more you can develop yourself.  I have met some great people here, who have inspired me, made me a better human being than what I was 8 year ago. The organisation also gives a very good platform for extracurricular activities which, I think, make work life more exciting here.

In the end, I have only one thing to say to myself:

“Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened.”- Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel.

Goodbye.
