Lights Camera Action is just an average addition to the booming restaurant culture of Hauz Khas Village.
Inconsistent with its name, the interiors are way too dark. Right from the quirky artwork & posters displaying popular movie dialogues to the menu & the music, the place is sadly swamped with way too much of Bollywood creativity. Also, the action refuses to pick up before late evening.
DJ console is on the second floor. Though the songs goes well with the theme, the high pitched music makes it difficult to have an audible conversation.
The bar menu is elaborate and serves wide variety of alcohols to the clientele. The food menu is spiced up with Desi movie acronyms, which though innovative, end up confusing the guests and shockingly, the waiters too. For drinks menu, a lot of choices remain unavailable like shakes & smoothies for the teetotalers. Even the mocktails like Green Apple, Cranberry Slush or Virgin Mojito were far from refreshing.
Starters like the “Sadak Chaap Momos “and “Sunny Leone Paapdi Chaat” were equally bland and dissatisfying.
The grilled chicken salad, Naanzaa, which is basically a hybrid of Naan & pizza and honey chilly potatoes (crispy and tangy) are yummy and enjoyable.
The Hookah is almost perfectly made .However, the Quick Gun Murugun chicken and Chilli Chicken (too sweet) did not go well with the drinks and sadly don’t live up to the expectations.
Lack of options in the food menu, tardy customer service, frequent power cuts and uncomfortable seating arrangement were a big disappointment. The place is commended for Bollywood fanatics who are ready to compromise on taste.
For the rest, I suggest you weigh your options carefully before settling for this one.
